Fraser Valley Antique Farm Machinery Association
The Fraser Valley Antique Farm Machinery Association had its humble beginnings in 1977 in a garage in Chilliwack. The first threshing bees it organized were so successful that in 1979 it was decided to become a registered non-profit society.
The club continued to grow and in 1983 the members were able to raise enough funds to construct one of the first buildings on the current Fraser Valley Exhibition Grounds in Abbotsford.
From 1977 to 1989 the Association held a demonstration weekend on its own, then merged our show with Agrifair in 1990. This has proved very successful for us and Agrifair, during which we demonstrate grain threshing, feed grinding, baling . operating antique stationary engines and cutting lumber with our restored saw mill, always a crowd favorite. Inside our building we demonstrate separating milk and making rope, and have on display old washing machines, household antiques, tools and collectors items. Other groups such as the MSA Museum Society also put on displays inside our building.
