Joanne Smid - Director

Hello!! My name is Joanne Smid and I have lived in Abbotsford for over 35 years. I love the diversity of our city. There really is a lot of things to do here....you just have to look.

I have owned my own hair salon for the past 18 years. My first was “Anne’s Hairstyling” and when I moved to a new location, I changed the name to “A Captured Look Salon and Spa”. I am a chair rental-based salon and I love helping women own their own businesses.

I have been the secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 9 years. I find that quite rewarding.

A few years ago, I decided to volunteer at the Agrifair. I have attended every year for many years and decided to help out. I am enjoying being a part of such an amazing event that has been going on for so many years and is an important part of Abbotsford’s history. I have been on the Agrifair Board of Directors since 2019.
